They were out when I went , but they gladly gave me a rain check .

Kroger and How to Get enough Coupons

Hi! It has been cold here. It was -10 with wind chill 2 nights ago.The real cold night was when I waited up till almost 3 Am to go to my local convience gas station and pick up extra leftover newpapers for the coupons . They throw the papers in the trash , so the people let me take them. I got 6 whole papers , so lots of inserts . I went to Kroger afterwards, and this is what I got: 2 (1 pounds)Brauwager-$1 each, regular$2.99 ($2) , Tyson BBQ chicken breast-$5 marked down to $2.99 -which I had a $1 coupon , so it was($2 )-17 oz.,Heartland rotini pasta $1.59 marked down to $1.39 and I had coupon doubled to $1.10 , so($.29),4 pack Promise Active yogurt (FREE COUPON)--http://www.promisehearthealthy.com/ . They give away 500 coupons per day.One organic potato leek soup marked down to ($1.49),1 loaf bread (2.00),1 dozen eggs organic marked down to ($1.39),8 serving package mashed potatoes that just need water added $2.18 and I had a coupon for $1 , so(1.18).I had 10 items to check out for a total amount of $20.20 then when coupons taken off , it was ($10.33).Actually, I know I can do even better than that . but like I said before, I've been sick and not even feeling like walking in the store , but so better last 2 weeks. Thank for good Lord for that!!

Deal I Found at Wal-Mart in Last couple Days

Hi! I found a #10 meat grinder at the super Wal-Mart. Check out yours in the camping section ,next to the golf stuff. It was only $5. This is great to buy marked down meat and grind it yourself. Then you know exactly what the meat looked like , at least , if not, the nutritional state of it.This is a hand meat grinder , great to have on hand for coming natural disasters or national emergencies.

(2) Ultra touch 2 blood sugar meters -paid $9.99 each=$19.98 (when get rebate , will be free)

This Week's Dinners

Hi! Here are dinners from this week. This is using what we have on hand.
1)Turkey rice medley-2-3 cups leftover turkey-chopped fine,rice-I used brown rice-2 bags sucess boil in bag rice, 1/2 bag peas &carrots (frozen kind)8oz.,enchilada sauce or alfredo sauce, poultry seasoning, salt , garlic powder , cooking oil (To make fry the turkey a few minutes in some cooking oil, add poultry seasoning, salt & garlic powder to taste -every family has their own seasoning likes & dialikes, meanwhile cook the peas & carrots , while that is cooking cook the rice-when these are all done mix in large bowl and serve with either alfredo sauce , enchilada sauce or other sauce of choice--we had canned peaches with this

2)pulled pork my way--cook a small pork roast in oven , till meat falls apart , then pull all apart using 2 forks , put in large pot and add mango or aprocot jam & mustard to taste--this will depend on your families tastes here again of how much to use-I used 1/2 a jar about 9 oz. of the Mango jam & about !/4 cup mustard , add a little water about 1 cup to pan & cook till mix together nicely -kinda should look like shredded chicken, I served this with Bisquick biscuits , cream cheese, peas & corn, and applesauce

3) Well, we had Papa John's pizza tonight as, I'm sick tonight and no one feels like cooking--They have been sick this week too.I was looking at a site for discount coupon codes and found this site . THey have codes for all kinds of stores , including Papa John's. As some of the comments say, you just have to check and try them. They don't always work or some places may not accept them, but sure can't hurt to try. It's http://www.retailmenot.com/ .

Starting 2008

Well, here we are at the start of a brand new year.Starting over with our finances. We have made some real screw-ups this past month even , with having to end up paying 3 overdrawn fees.I believe some of it was the bank's fault , but we paid the price. Now , we have a new chance , a new year. The Bible says , that God's mercies are new every morning. I'm sure glad they are or I'd be in trouble. Here is where we are now. We have No credit cards and never have. We have some old bills that need to be paid and just have to get everything in balance and wrote down. Writing stuff down seems to be our main trouble. It hasn't gotten done several times. Our income is $653 every 2 weeks for a family of 3. We have rent $375, electric$93 on budget plan, water/sewer $40, trash $16, hospital #1 $80, Dr. # $100,storage shed $35, phone $11.77, phone long distance $15, food $200,car insurance $45 ,gasoline $150,my medicines right now-$40, Dr. visits co-pay $40 , laundry $50 and I'll post the rest later. I have to revise this and do some figuring out to make this work. Till later. God bless.
